Brief
Model a structure using Organic Modeling techniques. Pick an Audio Track or Sound FX and animate at least 10 seconds of visuals and pair with the music. Your animation must show a knowledge and understanding of Organic Modeling, highly detailed textures (UV Mapping) and sophisticated animation.
The animations can utilize your Organic Models in unique ways. For example, insects, plants, anatomy, food, animals, real-world objects etc... Be creative!

I pitched two potential directions for the texturing of this piece, and decided on focusing on realistic 3D. I was inspired by photos of old, worn-down statues covered in plant overgrowth. I based the piece around the idea of creating new life from decay.
I decided to cut down my storyboard for the final animation so I could focus more on lighting and texturing within the given project time.
modeling
To model the statue, I started with a base mesh and continued to sculpt in details using Cinema4D’s sculpt tools. I used references with every angle of a person’s face to ensure realism.
I used box modeling to create a petal shape, then a subdivision surface and cloners to create the full flowers. I worked with splines and spline wrap deformers to model jagged branches.
texturing
I created the textures for the statue, leaves, and flower petals in Substance Painter. I learned how to use fills and generators in Substance Painter to make the crevices of the statue seem dirtier. Applying grungy and mossy textures helped the bust become a realistic statue.
I used masks and fill layers to add details to the petals and leaves, to add some realistic deformations.
